Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Hotel Heron invites guests to see the city from a new vantage point. Once home to the historic George Mason Hotel, the property has been thoughtfully reimagined as a modern hospitality destination—blending timeless architecture with curated design, elevated amenities, and a deep sense of place.
Just across the river from Washington, D.C., Hotel Heron serves as a bold new flag in the sand, beckoning travelers to look beyond the National Mall and monuments and experience the charm, creativity, and cultural energy of Old Town’s renaissance.
The 134-room boutique hotel offers a dynamic mix of hospitality and event spaces, including a 2,355 SF ballroom that accommodates up to 120 guests and 842 SF of flexible meeting space designed for everything from intimate gatherings to executive retreats.
Hotel Heron also serves as a local culinary hub. KILN, the signature ground-floor restaurant, highlights hearth-inspired Mid-Atlantic cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting. Hidden within the hotel, Francis Hall delivers a moody, intimate cocktail experience, while Good Fortune, the open-air rooftop bar, offers sweeping seasonal views of the Potomac and downtown Alexandria.
Developed by May Riegler Properties in partnership with Potomac Investment Properties and managed by Aparium Hotel Group, Hotel Heron reimagines a landmark property for a new generation of travelers.
