The Colonel is a five-story mixed-use development in Washington, D.C.’s vibrant 9th Street Corridor, blending historic preservation with new construction. The project adaptively reused a 1920s-era building, preserving its original façade while introducing 70 modern residences and 8,200 square feet of street-level retail.
Residential offerings range from studios to a top-floor penthouse, complemented by amenities including a landscaped courtyard, rooftop deck, private balconies, catering kitchen, controlled access, and secure bike storage.
Named after Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, commander of the first African American regiment in the U.S. Army, The Colonel honors the legacy of the Shaw neighborhood while contributing to its ongoing revitalization.
